Youth exchange “Intercultural Crossroads in Europe” Part 2

From the 18th to the 25th of July, the youth exchange "Intercultural Crossroads in Europe" take place in the Salesian Centre WDM in Krakow. The next days the participants learned more about the intercultural communication, conflicts and how they can become creative and active as a European citizenship.

From the 18th to the 25th of July, the youth exchange "Intercultural Crossroads in Europe" take place in the Salesian Centre WDM in Krakow. It is organized by Don Bosco Youth-Net and sponsored by the EU "Youth in Action"-Programme. The youth exchange is a 7-day programme focussing on the topics of Intercultural learning and European citizenship through a series of non-formal and creative sessions. 40 participants and 8 group leaders from 8 countries came together to learn many intercultural aspects, which is a basic competence for international youth work.

On the 11. of July, after a long preparation, 19 volunteers attended together with families, friends and ex-volunteers the official send off celebration. The young volunteers are joining youth projects in different countries of the world: Argentina, Bolivia, Benin, Ghana, India, Ukraine, Philippines and UK. The volunteers are assisted by Francesco Bagiolini and Fr. Stefan Stöhr SDB. The last preparation seminar was also a good stage to say good bye to Fr. Bruno Bauer, who is leaving Benediktbeuern after a long time of involvement in the field of international youth work. Fr.

Dear readers,

It is time again to tell you what I made the last weeks and I will do the following weeks. The last weeks I was creating Youthpasses for the participants who took place in the Step 2 training course in Benediktbeuern. On my opinion it is very good for them to get such a certificate because they can also use it to apply for a job. With the personal description of the key competences the participants learned during the training course everybody can see which development the individuals could go through.
