First steps taken towards a EWP within Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw

From the 3rd till the 6th of March the partners of Don Bosco Youth-Net IVZW gathered at Aktionszentrum, Benediktbeuern for their bi-annual network meeting. On the programme this time was a feasibility visit focussing on a future project: a Europe-wide project on working with Marginalised Youth. This is a large-scale voluntary project where the partners of DBYN exchange volunteers throughout Europe. The project itself will start in September 2006 and run up until September 2007. With a workshop on the Host Expression of Interest - an application needed by host organisations - and a session on partnerships, important steps towards the realisation of the project were taken. There were three other topics on the programme. At the exchange market the participants sat round the table working out future initiatives. The international office presented a publication project of a book on training methodologies. This book will be assembled out of the resources and methods used by our partner organisations. It will be published in December 2005. Also Don Bosco International gave a presentation on the structure and goals of this organisation. During the breaks and evenings the participants had the chance to relax and meet each other in a more informal way: walking in the beautiful surroundings of the Aktionszentrum, snowball fights and building snowmen, a cultural night with local specialities and Bavarian music, … The next network meeting will take place from the 13th till the 16th of October 2005 in Bratislava. At this seminar DBYN will work on the topic of the preparation and training of volunteers.
