In the beginning of August SADBA organized summer camp INLINE for czech children aiming to improve their language skills. For that reason we invited volunteers from abroad and changed our main language to English for a few days. Let's continue with words writen by one of the participants:
When I saw the article about an invitation on the English holiday camp INLINE I registered very quickly, because I wanted to learn something new, improve my English and meet friends from whole the Czech Republic and leaders from foreign countries.
On 1st of August we met in Spáleništ? close from Vysoké nad Jizerou. There was a cottage where we stayed for next nine days - but before accommodation we met with our mascot called Hugo.
During the INLINE we played a lot of games (on wedding), sang a lot of English songs (Help me!), celebrated the mass (of course in English - thank you Jožka), played sketches (you know Maruška…) and we tasted a lot of foods from others countries which were prepared by our leaders from Germany (Johannes, Lucia, Mireille “Mily”), GB (Richard), Latvia (Diana) and Czech (Jana). We could come to know something new about their native countries (we tried dance traditional dances, sing songs and taste really really traditional specialities) but mainly eliminate our prejudices.
One evening we started out to the two days trip but not like normal ordinary people but like VIP with masks of famous people.
We visited the old people's home too. For old grandmothers and grandfathers we prepared the program and than we talked with them – I think that for Inliners it was very interesting experience. The last night we spent around the camp fire with humorous sketches and singing.
This English camp was great experience for me and I hope that not only for me. I’m looking forward to the next INLINE in the future!
