The roots of Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw lay in informal meetings that took place between several Don Bosco youth organisations in Europe: exchanges, study visits, international training courses, ... However in 2000 some of these organisations felt the time right to start working together in a formalised way.  They decided that Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw should: 

1. Create international projects for and by young people in the style of Don Bosco
2. Exchange information, experiences and ideas between its members
3. Represent the voice of Don Bosco young people at international level

Since that moment we have been developing our structure to ensure that young people are involved on all levels of the network.  In 2004 we received our official recognition as an International Non-Governmental Youth Organisations under Belgian legislation.  Since 2005 we are an observer member of the European Youth Forum.
