BE AdventurEUs

It was a hot Thursday afternoon, and I was on my way to the airport to Belgium for an adventure camp from the 20th till the 27th August. With butterflies in my stomach I approached the airport departure lounge still unsuspecting that I was about to start the best week of my life. As soon as we arrived at our destination in Brussels, we were warmly greeted by two of our trainers who quickly became our friends. The next day we headed back to the airport to meet the youths who were coming from Slovakia and Belgium. Our first meeting was a memorable one, with hugs exchanged all around. The trip to Porcheresse was not a short one, but it gave us time to interact and get toknow each other better.

The next week was completely filled with activities that drew everyone closer to each other; from conquering the world activities, to rock climbing, paintball, walk trips, mass and many, many more. The intercultural evening, where all three countries shared with each other a piece of their culture was very intriguing, as it allowed us to better understand each other's cultural differences. I think I can speak for everyone when I say that this was one of the best weeks of our lives where everyone touched each others hearts in more ways than one. Tears that were shed at the end, were a mixture of happiness on having gone through such a great experience tinged with sadness on realising that the end had come.
