On Friday, 27th August, the Salesian Pastoral Youth Service (SPYS) organized Chick-A-Boom- a 70s theme party, held at Ta' Fra Ben in Qawra, in aid of Salesian projects in Malta, India,Ghana and South America. More than 370 people attended the party collecting €2410.50.

 

With music by DJ Bob and a live performance by Mikaela, the crowd was entertained and taken back to the magic of the 70s, dancing the night away and bringing nostalgia to thosewho lived them and envy to those who weren't as lucky.

As part of its ongoing programme of holistic formation for young people, SPYS has been sending volunteers to India since 2005, more recently to Ghana, and will send its firstvolunteer to Brazil this coming January. In Summer 2010, SPYS volunteers also organized a summer camp for children in Senglea.

The Salesians of Don Bosco are present in 131 different countries providing youth resource development through education and evangelization, dedicating their work to the young,especially those who are poorer and disadvantaged.
