Description:
This seminar has got the aim to let this young people meet together for sharing ideas, opinions, experiences and examples of good praxis in the voluntary service world. It represents a possibility for volunteers to keep the thread to their sending organisations and to plan a possible involvement in future activities concerning participation in youth democracy projects and youth initiatives.
Our proposal is to offer a platform for a follow up process, which will help the organisations to improve the cooperation for the next years. Letting young volunteers get the tools for a future active involvement in international activities represents a value for the organisation, which could benefit from the volunteers.
The focus of the seminar will be an exchange between volunteers at European level and volunteers who worked in different contexts, in particular in developing countries. Sharing impressions and ideas about the conception of “human rights” and “democracy” in different countries will raise the awareness of the ex-volunteers in transforming in concrete projects their background of experiences.
The participants will get the tools for the development of active citizenship and youth democracy through projects ideas in the frame of the Youth in Action Programme. The aim of the seminar is to let them work on real projects, using two particular actions of the YiA programme 1.2 and 1.3.
Concrete Themes of the workshops:
• Sharing of experiences and open discussion about human rights
• Giving young volunteers the tools to start getting involved in European projects.
