Mission: 
  • Mladinski ceh is a youth organisation which includes more than 300 members. It was established in 1992 after collapse of Yugoslavia as non-governmental organisation based upon a law on NGO’s. Since then it has a lots of activities for young people, with special care for free time activities and non-formal education following the idea of Don Bosco preventive system !
  • It is an organisation which promotes active participation of youth in many ways and also make place for young people to learn from each others.
  • We run programmes and projects on local, regional, national and international level for youth in general, not only for our members.
  • Everything we do is based on non-formal education, preventive method of work and active participation of young people.
Example activities: 

Permanent projects

  • The Information Network for youth work, where we stress the importance of spreading the information via the Internet, and with booklets, leaflets and brochures,
  • Pedagogy of games – with special attitude towards educators who are able to use game as an interactive element in their educational processes (publishing books, training material, renting requisite, making vacations for children in summer time)
  • International Co-operation with Hungary, with Slovakia and with the youth associations in Vojvodina, Montenegro, Bosnia and now in Don Bosco Youth Net

YOUTH ACADEMY

  • promotes non – formal education as a tool of youth work
  • education started before CEH was established but in the fall of 1998 we began with a two-year systematic program of education for leaders and trainers
  • now we are specialised into different courses we provide for other NGO’s, church groups, student organisation, teachers and others
  • education of volunteers is also one of our prirority

In co-operation with the Salesian Youth Pastoral

  • Oratorio: a series of summer-break programs in parishes all over Slovenia including various work-shops, discussion groups...
  • Carno jezero (The Magic Lake): a one-day festivity at the end of the school year in Ljubljana
  • Uskovniški teden (The Uskovnica Week): the oldest education program in which the idea of establishing the Youth Guild was born

Other projects

  • with DAPHNE network we promote idea of non-violent conflict solving techniques,
  • with EVS volunteers we would like to spread idea of international voluntarism,
  • with European Network for the Promotion of Youth Leisure and Voluntary Activities and Recognition of Youth Non-formal and Informal Learning we promote ideas of non-formal education in youth work and beyond
