SAMEN is a Don Bosco organisation sending volunteer on international voluntary service outside of Europe. They have published a Best practices manual on the experiences of their volunteers. SAMEN is closely connected to our Dutch MO Don Bosco Youthnet Nederland, and DBYN is a partner in their group EVS project. Therefore we are disseminating their best practices on our website. The booklet is available in English, Spanish and Dutch. On this website you can read it online.  If you are interested in receiving the pdf, please contact the international secretariat.

En Route: Don Bosco volunteers for HRE - Social impact study

3/5/2016

In 2015 Don Bosco Youth-Net organised the "En Route: Don Bosco volunteers for HRE" project. This project consisted of 3 training courses, introducing human rights education to our core groups of volunteers. As this project had a clear aim to impact the local communities of the volunteers, we decided to use the system of Social Return On Investment to calculate the generated impact. The study show that for each euro invested into this project, DBYN generated a social return for the value of 3,48 euro.  The report informs you about the project as well as how the impact was generated and calculated.

All Alien! - Social Impact Study

DBYN is developing a method for measuring the social impact of its projects.  As a first step in this process we carried out a "Social Return on Investment" research on the "All Alien! " training course.  The results of this research are published in report "Social Impact Measurement - Case study: All Alien! STEP 1 training course and its social return on investment".

This publication was made by Ms. Margaryta Buliy, in the framework of an European internship programme she was carrying out in the international secretariat of Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw. If you would have general questions on this publication, please contact [email protected].  If you would like to have more specific technical information on how the SROI method was implemented, please contact Ms. Buliy at [email protected].
