DBYN & the European Youth Forum

Picture

Don Bosco Youth-Net ivzw is an observer member in the European Youth Forum. The European Youth Forum is the largest platform for youth advocacy work in Europe. It has an advisory voice in the European Union, the Council of Europe and the United Nations. Don Bosco Youth-Net is member of this platform to represent the voice of the young people connected to Don Bosco.

Within this platform DBYN is member of a network called the ‘value-based cooperation’. This is a group of member organisations, which aims to bring in a value-based perspective in the policy development of the European Youth Forum. Since joining the Don Bosco Green Alliance in 2019, DBYN is also member of the
‘Sustainable Caucus’.

As observer member DBYN mainly shared educational expertise both in the YFJ as well as towards the value-based member organisations. Once we have our renewed educational methodology we have a stronger basis for advocacy, as the development of policy recommendations is strongly based on a rights-based approach.
